The RV Electronics Breakaway Switch Mount gives you and other road users an added level of protection while travelling some of the worlds harshest roads.
How it works:
Currently, Breakaway Switches have been attached to points on the chains or tow bar itself which can lead to the breakaway not functioning in an emergency situation due to tow bar failure.
The BSM attaches to the tow bar and to a non-towing point further forward to ensure the breakaway switch is always activated in an emergency detachment.
This allows you to easily attach the breakaway switch pin to a convenient point next to your hitch without the worry of the breakaway not engaging when you need it most.
If there is a tow bar failure, the BSM will disengage from its mounting bracket and use the forward attachment point to activate the breakaway system, bringing the towed vehicle to a stop in the shortest amount of time possible.
The BSM connects directly to the vehicle at one of 4 mount options:
- Plug or Receiver mount
- Tow bar mount 2.5"
- Tow bar mount 4"
With the additional option of an Accessory Bracket for Tow Bar Kits to attach airbag inflation/Wozza bracket, reverse camera plug and Anderson plugs.

Tow Plug or Receiver- There are 2 options for installing this system: Tow Plug bracket or tongue receiver. The tow plug bracket is installed between the plug and the vehicle chassis using the 2 supplied M4 Bolts. Forward attachment points are secured using a chassis mounting tab. The receiver mount is installed with the supplied square U bolt.
Tow Bar Mount- The tow bar mount allows for the convenience of tow bar access with security of chassis attachment. The Tow Bar Mount uses a U bolt to attach to the Tow bar with a chassis mounting tab to secure to a place further forward under the vehicle such as a spare tyre or chassis. The Tow Bar Mount comes in size options of 2.5" and 4" depending on what size U Bolt needed to fit your tow bar.
Accessory Bracket for Tow Bar Kits- Are designed to attach airbag inflation/Wozza bracket, reverse camera plug and Anderson plugs. Depending on your vehicle's towbar, this can be installed in a 'low' position or a high position that uses the tow bar as a shield for your electronics from the elements and terrain.
Individual U Bolts- These U bolts are for those that wish to run an Accessory Bracket without a BSM. These mount to your tow bar with options of 2.5" and 4" sizing. If you are wanting to use an accessory bracket this way, select both the Accessory Bracket and a U Bolt (to Mount Accessory Bracket Independently).
